Below is an example of a typical schedule. Participation in all activities is entirely voluntary, and we would hate pupils to feel obliged to take part if at any stage they would rather be resting or lounging by the pool. We do, however, aim to help students get the most out of their time with us.
A Typical day at Arniano:
10.30am Morning lesson begins, usually kicking off with some warm up drawing exercises
2.30pm Afternoon lesson
5.00pm Class ends - Group Discussion on the day's work

All prices are per person and include full board, all drinks, alcoholic or otherwise, tuition and basic art materials, including boards for painting on, brush cleaning fluid and a few basic paints. However, we ask painters to bring their own brushes and as many paints as they can - ideally a set of watercolours and some oil colours. We can provide a list of recommended brushes, and you are more than welcome to bring any of your own materials that you like working in. We will be mainly focusing on watercolours, oils and charcoal and pencil drawings.
It is recommended that you rent a car for your stay as it makes the transfer from the airport much quicker and is infinitely more economical than a taxi. If you do not drive or would prefer to get the train, our nearest train station is Buonconvento, from where we are happy to collect you free of charge. We can also organise for you to be picked up by a taxi from the airport, please ask for prices.
While the whole ethos behind the Arniano Painting School is to provide a beautiful and relaxing place in which to be inspired and improve your artistic skills, the house is also a fantastic place for a simple relaxing holiday. We want guests to come and thoroughly enjoy themselves, which is why we have a special rate for non-painting partners and friends of £1250, for those keen painters who have a partner or friend who is keen to come along and, while classes are happening, roam the endless lovely hills surrounding the house, go on explorations to nearby Pienza or Montalcino, or simply read a book.
For those interested, there is a fantastic Ayurvedic masseuse available who can come to the house if there is enough interest (extra cost).
Please note that all prices are in British Pound Sterling, and that we cannot be liable for any bank fees that you may incur when paying your bill.
